Today is perfect. Per usual. Sunny and beautiful and it's Friday and I'm just so excited for another amazing LA weekend. Per always. So this weekend is full of fun stuff...
Friday, March 21st: Friday's off the 405 at the Getty.
This is by far one of the coolest events I have attended in LA. Not much explanation needed besides a free show in the courtyard at the Getty, bars, and sunset. Done. Tonight features the band Something in Spanish, an experimental/avant-garde group from Brooklyn. From getty.edu:
Leave it to songbird Michelle Perez, jazz cat Jules Monterey, and visual artist Ari Kuschnir to effortlessly blend ear-popping beats with eye-popping visuals. Something in Spanish offers a little something for everyone—from straight-up rump-shakin' dance music to relaxing melodies you can chill to. It's a whole lotta show with a tinge of glow.
Later this evening, I would love to check out Ronna & Beverlys's All Jew Review at UCB. Tonight's guests inlcude Jerry O'Connell and Adam McKay (director: Anchorman, Talladega Nights). However, I don't think there are enough hours in the day.
Our network is down at work right now, here is what I am thinking about:
-The Hollywood Bowl just annouced the 5-show Concert Series. Check it out if you have any plans of going to some shows at this wonderful venue.
-The band Neon Neon.
-Outside Lands festival in SF. Yes Radiohead.
-Good Magazine is great.
That's all for now. Time to work.
